Moneymaking and Personal Creative Potential

Selling your creativity is an excellent way to make money.

In this context creativity is different than knowledge. You see, knowledge is the accumulation of all that you’ve learned and are willing to sell to others as part of a consultancy fee.

On the other hand creativity is something that is not transferable. Creativity is a form of expression that is unique to the makeup of you. Personal creativity is the very intimate reflection of the things you show the most passion about. This process starts with knowledge and then grows into it’s own.

Creativity can be about your ability to sing or write songs. It could also be about your ability to tell a story or write one. That sense of personal creativity can be about sculpting in bronze or carving in wood. Creativity can be in painting the world through new eyes or simply capturing it most eloquently with a camera and lens. Creativity can be in landscaping a yard or designing the perfect entryway.

Your creativity can be freely given as a labor of love, but it should not be purchased without cost. Think about it, your creativity is something that no one else can duplicate in the exact same way you can.

Elvis Presley commanded a significant income because he was Elvis. Others have come along that may sound or even look like him, but for most fans these individuals are just posers. Whatever creativity they may possess is lost in their desire to be the best Elvis that really isn’t Elvis.

Katharine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart and a laundry list of great movie stars from our past are known for signature performances. Impressionists make money by doing their best to sound like these giants of stage and film, yet the truth is these movie icons stand alone and undisputed. They are recognized for the personal creativity they brought to every performance.

Industry awards are given out each year to reward those who brought their creativity in spectacular ways to stage, screen and audio recordings.

If you watch television reality shows that feature music you will discover those individuals that show their own creativity do much better than those who intentionally try to sound just like their favorite artist.

Creativity has value – imitation is either mildly flattering or horribly annoying.

What is it that you create that is uniquely you? Maybe your creativity expresses itself in unique craft projects, furniture making, providing a voice for a movie trailer or harmonica playing.

Your creativity has value. Some of that creativity is highly valued in traditional employment. Executives look for individuals with specific creative abilities that make it possible for the company to excel in certain areas. In many cases the individual creativity of the employees create a team that has an edge over other similar companies.

Your creativity can also be expressed in more personal business opportunities. The primary problem for many artistic individuals is that most would rather create without worrying about the administration associated with a business.

In order to move into the world of business many of these creative geniuses seek out either a business manager or agent to help them manage business details while they keep their focus on creativity.

There is money to be made in personal creativity. Have you considered how to tap into your personal creative potential?
