Moneymaking Dreams Supersized

What do I mean by the size of your dream? Well, for some individuals their dream revolves around developing a part-time business that can be operated independent of traditional employment they may wish to keep. This dream generally centers on a hobby or personal skill. The hobby generally means the development of a tangible product for sale while a skill may lend itself to providing a specialized service.

If you have a really big dream it might mean working to break away from your traditional job to develop a business that will meet your personal financial needs. It may also mean working toward hiring employees to manage production and/or product fulfillment while you work at marketing and administration.

What do I mean by personal strengths and abilities? This criterion revolves around what you already know how to do without learning additional skills. If you already have a bent toward promotion combined with the ability to produce a product or direct a service then you may have what you need to develop a business immediately. If you do not possess the skills needed to develop a business you should assess what your willing to do to gain the needed skills through education and training.

I guess one of the points I want to make in regards to dreams is that even when you have a small dream it is still possible to pursue a business objective.

The truth is many will dream too small. Some of this may be due to a childhood where affirmation was not a gift regularly received or the individual suffers from a laundry list of self-doubts. What this means is that there are a lot of people who think that their ‘small’ dream isn’t worth sharing or that they are not worthy of offering the idea. This isn’t necessarily an “If you believe you can achieve” speech. This is simply an article that encourages you to take your dream (no matter the size) and bring it out into the light and take a look at it a little closer. If you can develop something with a small dream maybe you can trust yourself to dream a little bigger.

On the other hand if you already have a big dream you should put together a business plan that delineates the objectives you have in mind as well as the road map that can help you advance to the size and scope of business success you would like to achieve.

Many traditional businesses were built on the strengths and abilities of employees. Most of these employees never considered the potential of taking those skills and crafting something with their own personal stamp on it.

Think about what it is you can offer, how you can offer it and who would most likely be interested. This will help you come to terms with the possibilities associated with your variable-sized dream.
